If you look straight at my eyes, you might have to shut your eyes because of the glare. If you look straight at my shoes, you'll think I'm wearing a big version of shoes made for a three-year-old kid. I'm fine with both of these.
In the past few years, I've embraced my love of everything sparkly. When I think about all the bad things that happen in the world and that can happen to us, I want to hide under a blanket. But instead of hiding, I use sparkles as a shield. Sparkles reflect the negative of the world back whence it came, keeping me safe in a joyful bubble of happiness.
What do you use as a shield to keep your joy safe within? Talk about it in the comments.
